Protective Covers
We also recommend a protective cover for the tree trunk to prevent damage to the bark which may cause esthetic problems as well as damage the tree’s health. Construction damage often takes years to kill trees, starting with declining health and eventually causing tree death years later. Minimize cutting and scraping roots, and take extra care of the damaged trees while they are recovering with proper watering, fertilizing, and insect damage prevention.
Restore Soil Levels
Changing the soil depth in the protected root zone can compact the soil and change the water table causing serious damage to your tree. It is best to restore soil to the original level and make sure that it isn’t mounded up around the base of the tree trunk.
